The Yamaha YS125 is a small-displacement motorcycle introduced in 2017, mainly for the European market. It kept the same spirit as the YBR125, which it replaced, but came in a more modern package. It was also updated to meet Euro 4 emission standards.

As opposed to its predecessor, the YS125 boasted a more aggressive and sporty exterior with sharper tank lines and fairings, an angular headlight instead of the round one of the YBR125, a larger 14-liter (3.7 gallons) fuel tank, and a 15 mm taller seat.

In the visual department, the commuter is complemented by features like a single headlight, a small wind deflector, a one-piece dual seat, pillion grab handles, side-mounted rear shocks, a single exhaust system with a silencer on the right-hand side, and large five-spoke alloy wheels.

For suspension, the motorcycle is equipped with a conventional telescopic fork on the front and two shocks on the rear, one on each side. This system offers a plush riding experience and great suspension performance.

Attached to the suspension, 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels drive the bike, which are stopped by a 245 mm brake disc on the front, clamped by a hydraulic caliper, and a 130 mm drum braking unit on the rear.

As for the power figures, the 2018 Yamaha YS125 had installed a 125cc four-stroke air-cooled single-cylinder engine that boasted 11 hp with a peak at 7,500 rpm and 11 Nm ( 8 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm.
