Yamaha R1 50th Anniversary Edition

Registered February 2006 on a 55 plate and now with just 8,102 miles. Presented in the beautiful 50th anniversary Yellow colourway.

Celebrating 50 years of the Yamaha Motor Company in 2006, Yamaha released a special edition R1 in the iconic yellow-black speed block livery of racing legend Kenny Roberts. Using the 998cc stock R1 engine, this model also featured custom Öhlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels and an integrated lap timer.

The Yamaha R1's 20-valve four-cylinder motor makes more power than 90% of all road riders can cope with, and delivers it in one long, ever increasing howl of delight. This is the last iteration of the R1 to use the 20-valve setup before the 16-valve 2007 version and then the MotoGP-inspired cross plane crank 2009 edition. The nifty gearbox helps the fun, plus the fuel injection is excellent, too.

This particular R1 is in excellent condition and benefits from being fitted with crash bungs.
