The Harley-Davidson XL883 Sportster is a basic, budget way into Harley ownership: that possession prized by anyone whose idea of heaven is a long, straight, American highway and for whom Peter Fonda remains the ultimate role model.

The 883 has clean lines with its pure, simple design. Then theres the iconic peanut tank, twin, side-mounted exhausts, classic cut-down rear fender. If you removed the H-D badge from the Iron youd still be in no doubt who made it.

The engine in the Harley Iron 883 is both its biggest asset. Its a proper Harley motor, so its a 45-degree air-cooled, pushrod operated, V-twin - just like most other Harleys have been since 1912. That means it sounds nice and rumbles around just like it should.

Riding the 883 feels good – and thats what matters most.
